On 23, 24 July there will be a door-to-door census. The census will cover all issues of socio-economic importance, at household level. The purpose of the exercise will be to develop an accurate picture of the extent to which the development process that has been implemented in Cata since 2003 has eradicated poverty. There is a lot of attention that has been given to Cata, so it is necessary to find out how successful it has been. Otherwise, it would not be sensible to replicate this approach in other areas. The survey will be implemented by a team under the management of a group of young people being trained by Student Partnership Worldwide (SPW).
We recently received excellent news that the European Union has approved our application for funding for the irrigation scheme (submitted in partnership with the Cata CPA). In that application we decided to call the project The Cata Food Basket because of the wide variety of products that it plans to produce.
